Window Media Player after upgrade won't play previously ripped material RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • After upgrading from WMP 9 to 11 the former ripped audio material (CD's) won't play in WMP 11. New Material plays and rips. Code says it won't play file. In another App it states that it is in WMA 2 format, another states says this material is protected by Digital Rights Management. Even after downloading Microsoft's "Fix it" automated troubleshooting services and trying to get it to install it comes back "Sorry, Microsoft Automated Troubleshooting Services failed to install" and I can't get it to install even after it downloaded. What is blocking playing of formally recorded (copied/ripped) material and keeping me from installing the Trouble Shooting Service Microsoft has to offer? Please help, can't figure this one out!
