I cannot click on anything after I've logged in (Win 7) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I logged on to my computer today and I can't click on anything related to the windows 7 UI (I can't click on any desktop icons or taskbar, if I open task manager it gets stuck immidiately as well), the way i got google chrome started up was by super quickly clicking on chrome after logging in just before everything stopped. Chrome itself works just fine, and occasionally skype messages pop up in the bottom right corner like they're supposed to as well. But as I said, nothing else is working. How can I help find out what the problem is and what do I do to fix it?

  • Hi,

Please boot into clean boot mode to check how it works:

How to perform a clean boot to troubleshoot a problem in Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista

Also, try to scan your system fully by your anti-virus program, this could be virus issue.

  • Alt-tabbing between skype and chrome works fine and moving the mouse around works. Obviously the keyboard as well
