can't join the domain on remote site with his own DC GC replicated.

    Question

  • Hi,

I try to join my domain

The devices are getting IP from DHCP server svrrooi and the dns for these devices are :192.168.1.2 and 192.168.0.254.

But when i try to join a pc to the domain i get the following error:

"The machine ... attempted to join the domain DEWIJSNEUS.BE but failed. The error code was 58.

I'm looking for the internet on these errors with always the same solutions "check DNS" but i'm pretty sure that they are pointing correctly?

    i have two sites:

  • DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 127.0.0.1 just set dc ip address to point to itself on DNS.(192.168.1.2) then run "ipconfig /flushdns","ipconfig /registerdns"..also run "nslookup" on this dc to check dns resolve.

And you should check port accessibility, you can check with PortQryUI ; https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=24009

  • Hi,

    thank you for the reply,

    i tried your suggestion.

I can resolve the dns lookup without a problem on the dc and the notebook that i want to join.

i have seen that the sysvol was not replicated and resolved that issue but the policy's arent replicated yet i think.

The netlogon folder is also not available.

can give this the problem? and how can i resolve this?

    Thanx
