Fully Remove Software Update Point from Site Server RRS feed

    • Deployed SUP on a site server. 
    • Decided to move the SUP to a new server.  
    • Removed the SUP role from the orginal Site Server in SCCM 2012 (WSUS is still running but not linked to SCCM or used) 
    • Followed the process to add the SUP role to the new server. 
    • SUP is running fine on the new server,
    • However the orginal server is throwing the following error in SCCM/Component Status:

    Error 6703

    WSUS Syncronization Failed.

    Message: Failed to sync some of the updates.

    Note - WSUS is still running on the orginal server, but it is not being used or linked to SCCM 2012.

    Does SUPSetup.log tell that the uninstallation was successful? When have you removed the role?

    Yes, the SUPSetup.log shows the role was uninstalled successfully.

    Deinstalling the SMSWSUS

    Removing the WSUS Registry

    Deinstallation was successful

    Removed the role in January.
