Need to convert a older Windows Setup file to work with Windows 7 RRS feed

    Is it possible to convert a setup file from an old Windows program to load onto a Windows 7 Home Premium system?

     

    The message that I get is:

    The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the Program, then contact the software publisher.

    Due to the program being many years old I can not contact the publisher.  

    Does anyone know how to re-write or convert this file so that Windows 7 will be compatible?

    You get the message because the Setup is a 16Bit Install Shield Installer. The 64Bit Windows can't execute old Win3.x installers. There is no workaround.
