PXE Boot - Following Networking Device Dit Not Have A Driver Installed RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

We are a business in need of capturing then deployed images of Windows 10 (enterprise and pro) for a Dell Optiplex XE3.

And it would seem that the PXE boot to reach out MDT server (2013) is failing each time

Indeed, once it reaches the moment MDT is supposed to launch (after choosing the langage of the keyboard) we have the error message "Following networking device did not have a driver installed"

More precesily here is the message in full (can't add screenshot here as my MS Tech net account doesn't allow me yet) :

A connection to the deployment share (\\VEGH001\DeploymentShare$) could not be made.
The following networking device did not have a driver installed.
    PCI\VEN_8086&DEC_15BB&SUBSYS_08631028&REV_10
Retry: Try again to connect to the deployment share.
Cancel: Give up, cancelling any in-progress task sequence.

However, on the Optiplex XE3, all the latest drivers are installed

And out MDT server seems to be up to date as various other computers (desktops/laptops) from various brands which are running Win 10 (enterprise & Pro) are detected fine by our MDT server.

    But this one, keeps failing

And we tested it on several Dell Optiplex XE3 and they all do the same things so we are at a loss

We even tried to inject the network card drivers of the Optiplex XE3 inside our MDT servers, but still no go.

Would there be something that comes to mind to solve this thing ?

    Thanks ahead of time

    Much oblige

    Godspeed,

    Sincerely,

    Mawuena

At that point it is all about the drivers that are loaded into WINPE. Make sure the network card and storage drivers get loaded into WINPE. Anytime you add new drivers you need to update your deployment share and recreate your boot image and then update that in WDS. All should work fine as long as your selection profile is pulling the correct drivers from the deploymentshare.
