Upgrade Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit to Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

    Question

  • I currently have an AUSUS G60VX Notebook with Microsoft Window Vista Home Premium 64bit and would like to upgrade my windows.  With all the available sources on the internet to download from, I'm unsure of which would be legitimate and whether I will get what I'm looking for without compromising and damaging my system.

I am looking for a reliable legitimate source to upgrade from Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit to Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

    Thank you

  • Hi Masisamea.

There is no legitimate source to download the Windows 7 ISO file and burn an installation disc, unless you have a MSDN Subscription or you buy a Windows 7 Product Key and download the ISO file from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows7.
You have to look on some computer store for a Full or Upgrade Retail license of Windows 7 and buy it, but it could be difficult; also consider that upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft.

    Bye.

  • I agree with Luigi Bruno about license matter.
But I suppose you could buy Windows 7 64-bit (Professional edition) via amazon.com.

  • Hi,

The upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft.

If you need to install or reinstall Windows 7 you can use this page to download a disc image (ISO file) to create your own installation media using either a USB flash drive or a DVD.

Download Windows 7 Disc Images (ISO Files)

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows7

BTW, if you want to back up data, you can refer to this article.
