Excel 2016 - Problem with 'Power Query' RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I had Excel 2013 I was able to use Power Query.
Now I have a new laptop, with Excel 2016 Standard.
When I want to make a new document with the 'Get and Transform' function, I can't.
Also when I try to renew an old document, made with the Power Query 2013, I get the same message.
I don't know how to say it in English, but it says: 'Initialisatie van de gegevensbron mislukt'.

    Can you help me?

    Greetings,

    Hanne

  • Hi Hanne,

    >>When I want to make a new document with the 'Get and Transform' function, I can't.<< what's the meaning of "I can't"? There is no 'Get and Transform' option in the Ribbon, or you cannot use this option in Excel?

What's the version of Excel 2013 did you use?

As you're using Excel 2016 Standard, you're using the basic business analytics features in Excel please refer to this picture:

Any updates please let me know and I'm glad to help you.

  • Hi,

It was also a standard Excel 2013 I was using. So I was using just the basic 'power query', no 'power pivot' or something like that.

I have the tools in the ribbon, so I'm able to get in the Query-editor. I can make changes but when I choose 'close and load' I get the error. When Excel tries to load the query I get the error.

In the old document, made in Excel 2013 Excel also displays the error when I try to renew the Query.

    Greetings,

    Hanne
