How can I add additional information to a project? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

I have been asked to configure Project Server 2010 to be able to produce reports that indicate whether line items in a quotation are being being achieved within budget or not.

The way I would like to do this is by adding details of the line items (name, budget for each line item) and then assign each task in a project plan to one of the line items.  for each project the line items will be different.

Is this possible with Project Server 2010?

  • Hello Al,

There are several ways to approach this, but I would probably create a "TASK" level custom EPM code.  Use a number field and call the field "Quotation".  Then you can use other EPM custom fields to do calcuations based on the other fields in projects.

There are several ways to create custom EPM fields. I would do it under the "Server Setting" in PWA and go to "Custom Fields"

    Cheers!
