Project site provisioning - Remote web application RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Everyone!

We have a Project Server farm and a seperate SharePoint farm we use for collaboration (project/team sites).

I haven't found a way to have Project Server create the project sites in a seperate farm (the collaboration farm). Is that even possible OOB without having to rewrite the provisioning process?

Basically, in the Project Site Provisioning Settings, I would like to be able to select a web application which is part of another farm.

    Cheers!

  • I do not think it is possible. The Web Application needs to be in the same farm.

Your option might be to use a workflow to create the project sites separately in the remote farm, upon the creation of the project.

  • Thanks for your answer, after my research and testing I think I can say it is not possible.
