2016 Office Mail Merge won't send in HTML RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have Windows 10 and Office 2016.

When I try to send mail merge email in HTML nothing happens and no emails get sent.

If I try to send as Plain Text I get this message: "A program is trying to access e-mail address information. If this is unexpected, click DENY and verify your anti-virus software is up to date"  The other option is "ALLOW". To send 50 mail merge emails in Plain Text I have to click ALLOW 50 times allowing a few seconds between clicks for each email to be sent.

My Norton antivirus is up to date. My email default is Outlook 2016. It all worked fine with Office 2013.

  • Hi,

Please first try starting you Outlook as administrator, then, go to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Programmatic Access, make sure the "Warn me about suspicious activity when my antivirus software is inactive or out-of-date (recommended)" bullet is selected.

If above doesn't applies, we may also try to disable all third-party add-in in your Word and Outlook program and then check if this issue continues. You can disable add-ins under File > Options > Add-ins.

See the following article for more information about this error:

  • I am having the same problem with 2016 Publisher as part of Office 365. I checked and no, the messages are not in my Outlook mailbox. They appear to be sent, but they never arrive on the other end. It does not matter whether I use MailMerge or individually send. Sometimes they come immediately when sent individually, sometimes hours later and typically not at all. I spent hours creating e-newsletters to send and am unable to do so. When I use 2016 they do not send at all. When I use the full version of 2007 they are sometimes sent right away, later or not at all. Can you please assist?
