Running JDBC Connector from command line fails - works from ESP UI Admin RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I run this command I get an error message on one of the indexing servers:

    E:\esp\connectors\jdbc\bin>connect start -f  "E:\esp\data\connectorcontroller\JDBCConnector_mycollectionname.xml"
Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation.  All rights reserved.

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Files

The same works just fine on another indexing server. Also when I try from the Admin GUI on the same server where it failing, it works.

    1. Is it missing a JAR file in a specific directory?
    2. Are any of the environment variables incorrect?

Any help in this matter would be of great help.

  • Check some of the environment variables for JAVA_HOME, CLASSPATH, and FASTSEARCH, and check the script itself for similar parameters.

You might also want to check how permissions are setup for the file systems.  Perhaps the account's permissions for trying to run it from the command line on the 'new' machine is different than the account's permissions from the old machine.
