Purchased software that ran under Vista does not work with Windows 7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have some purchased software for Vista (> 300€ additionally invest, although I had it already for XP), but this is now not running with Windows 7, notice now we are close to the final release.

I thought Microsoft has made a "lessons learned"-session to avoid such bucks similar to that from XP -> Vista. It is nice that there is a possibility for installing a virtual XP drive, but my notebook is not suitable for that. I will not buy later again the software, just to have the "fun" to use Windows 7. I Have spent up to now lots of hours and I think this not worth to have a new system.

The best for me would be to switch back to Windows XP (all normal software runs perfectly), but unfortunatly I have no possibility to switch back due to my hard drive (AHCI-Type).

  • Have you tried to run the program in Vista Compatibility mode?

Just right-click the desktop icon, and go to Properties .
    Go to the Compatibility tab.
Under the Compatibility mode section check the box next to Run this program in compatibility mode for:
    Select Windows Vista .

You also have not given the build of the Windows 7 that you are using.
