Thinking of using Active Directory-Based Activation

-
Hi,
I'm looking to use Active Directory-Based Activation but have some questions before going ahead with this method. I assume the server that has the Volume Activation role and the VAMT tool installed will need to be connected to the internet.
The question I have is... what ports are required between the Server and Microsoft in order to be able to activate and keep Active Directory-Based activation to work?
Kevin.

ADBA, like KMS, only requires a one-time interaction with MSFT. This can be a network-connection, or you can use telephone-activation in case you cannot allow internet-connection to occur.
After the ADBA or KMShost is activated by this interaction, there is no further contact necessary with MSFT - the ADBA or KMShost will remain in an activated state and will happily issue activations to your client computers forever with no further contact to MSFT.
I think the network traffic for activation with MSFT cloud service does use ports 80/ 443 (but am not completely certain, I have not captured the traffic myself)
EDIT: https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/291983/ports-that-are-used-by-windows-product-activation
Don [doesn't work for MSFT, and they're probably glad about that ;]

Hi Kevin,
Refer to the following article:
https://dirteam.com/sander/2012/09/12/new-features-in-active-directory-domain-services-in-windows-server-2012-part-16-active-directory-based-activation/
“Where KMS used TCP port 1688 (by default) for client-server communication, Active Directory-based Activation uses commonly used Active Directory client-server communication ports.”
