Google Ad Links Do Not Work Anymore RRS feed

  • Question

  • Does anyone know if a change to IE11 was made that caused Google Ad links to stop working? The ads display fine, but the ads are no longer clickable.  Everything still works fine on Edge, Chrome, Safari and Firefox.  I created a stripped down version of the code to make sure there wasn't any other issue, here is the link: https://www.mssqltips.com/test_dfp.asp

    I tested on IE11 where it doesn't work.

    I tested on IE8 and it does still work.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  • I found the problem.  We had this line of code on the page.

    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=9" />

    I removed this line and everything seems to be working fine again.

    Thanks for everyone's replies.

  • Hi,

    I have tested on my computer with this IE version, it works fine.

    After this you might notice the blue Protection indicator in Address Bar on most websites. This shows that Tracking Protection (or Do Not Track, described later) is doing its job safeguarding your privacy on the Internet.
    Internet Explorer 11 Privacy, Tracking Protection. If Tracking Protection or ActiveX Filtering block an element on a webpage, the Protection indicator will appear in Address Bar.

    If the Protection icon is blue, some content has been blocked on the site. You can disable the protection on individual sites by clicking the icon and then clicking Unblock content in the "Some content is blocked to help protect your privacy" dialog. As all site preferences are stored, this is one-time job.
    Internet Explorer 11 Privacy, Tracking Protection. To turn off privacy protection for a site, click the Protection icon and click 'Unblock content'.

    In addition, This issue can also be caused by ActiveX filter.  To turn ActiveX Filtering off, open Tools menu, click Safety and select ActiveX Filtering again. If a check mark is not displayed to the left of ActiveX Filtering, the feature is turned off.

    We can also add this site to Trusted site to fix this issue.
