I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium - '2007 Microsoft Corp - Acer -Model Aspire X1200 85.8 GB I have always been able to open up the shortcuts on desktop until just recently. I don't know what has changed.
I'm hitting the same problem... Can somebody help please? I click the shortcuts in the desktop and the error pops up saying "Application not found". It said that for all MS office apps. However, if I click an existing ppt or xls file it opens up. The only trouble I have is that I don't know how to open Outlook.
Ok, a bit of search in the internet helped to get the answer.

www.dougknox.com --> WinXP fixes --> File Association fixes --> EXE File Association Fix.
Is there any official patch available in Microsoft support site for the same?
