Posting and Reporting on Actuals RRS feed

  • Quick question. 

    I assigned myself to a project task.

    I opened my timesheet, logged some time, then hit submit.

    I have auto-approved set, so the timesheet was approved.

    I did not see any actuals in the project.

    I had to go to Update Project on the Project ribbon, to have the actual hours posted.

    Q:  Is there a way to ‘auto-post’ actual time to projects?  We can’t have PM’s going into each project every week clicking the Update Project button.  Once time is posted, how do I report on that time?

  • Hi,

    should a PM not taking care of hi projects on a regular basis :).

    Anyway, each PM can create rule for own projects. Approval Center - Manage Rule - New. Here you can define, if rule should run automatically (what you are looking for) and also if Status Updates should be publsiehd immediately.Does that help?
