Background pictures using Windows 7 to 11 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Everything was so easy to set a picture as background in Windows 7 whatever the version of Internet Explorer.  No with Windows 10 and Internet Explorer 11 clicking on a picture does not give the "Customer" the same option under the new and improved program (sarcasm meant).

Why did your firm change the obvious usefulness of the old way and how does one go back to the old way?

  • Hi,

these are peer to peer support forums. We do not work for nor represent MS. You can send feedback to the MSFT developers/engineers from the Feedback hub in Windows 10. Development/maintenance of IE finished 2 years ago.

The 'Set as background' context menu still works in the latest version of IE... you may be visiting a website that is using background images instead of img tags... As the name

'Context menu' suggests.... what appears on the IE context menu depends on the context of the element that is clicked....only img elements will invoke the

    'Set as background' context menu.

It is important to include links to any problem websites with your questions so that we can visit and test the exact same websites as you to test.
