Microsoft Outlook 2007 added an Exchange Account and Rules Vanished RRS feed

  • Question

  • I use Microsoft Outlook 2007.   I had a handful of POP3 mail accounts and probably 40-50 rules set up.  The rules were mostly to move e-mails when they arrive into specific folders.   Due to a new job, I had to add a new Exchange e-mail account to Outlook.  I added the Microsoft Exchange account which also simultaneously wiped out all my rules.

It now appears that my Rules are being stored on a server, the server for my new Exchange account I'm guessing?   There are a couple of problems with that.  First I started recreating my rules and I hit a limit on the number of rules it is allowing me to recreate and I still need to create more.   Any way to get my old rules back?   and is there anyway to go back to just having the rules in my Outlook and not bother with having them on the server?   I only need to move emails around and apply rules when they arrive on my computer so avoiding them on the server is preferred.

  • Its a normal behaviour

    Rules are not recoverable

And rules are stored in the Server side alone.

we can't have it run on the Client end

  • OK, Thanks.

Is there any way to increase the number of rules allowed.   It seems to have maxed out around 20-25?
