Separate traffic on Skype Clients for QoS purposes - Voice vlan and Data vlan RRS feed

  • Question

  • On the Cisco phones that I am replacing, I have a laptop connected to one of the switch ports behind the phone. The phone is connected to a switch where we configure a voice vlan and a data vlan on the same port. I'd like to keep this architecture when we move to Lync clients / softphones. We would configure 2 IP Addresses (one for Lync VOIP and the other for all other traffic) on each Windows client. Has anyone tried this? How does the Windows OS separate the traffic and how does Lync intuitively know to route its traffic to the IP assigned to voice?

    Thanks!

  • This you can achieve using DHCP option configuration for SFB IP phones.Only thing is the IP phones should support the LLDP. Refer below hos to configure the options.
