Online Meeting - Phone Number

Question
-
Hello,
Whenever an user joins the online meeting from the desk phone, Lync online meeting console shows the phone number instead of display name. Desk phone number has been added to the Line number on the user account. Also, telephone property on the user's AD account have the same number. Normalization rules has been set correctly. Please assist to how to troubleshoot further. Let me know if you need any other information.
Thanks.
Thanks

Hi,
Please try to change the number in AD to E.164 format and then test again.
Please run Get-CsAddressBookConfiguration cmdlet to check if “UseNormalizationRules” set to True. If it set to “False”, change it to “True” and then test again.
Best Regards,

Is the desk phone a Lync Phone edition device?
The number entered in AD is it in e164 format?
If not do we have the appropriate normailzation rule in global policy to translate it to E164 format?
From another user using Lync Desktop client when you enter the phone number in the search field does it resolve to the user correctly

User is joining the meeting through desk phone. The number entered in AD is not in E.164 format. We have appropriate normalization rule in place. From Lync desktop client the number is not resolving to user name, it just shows the phone number. Please tell me how to proceed further
Thanks

Thanks. I have changed the number to E.164 format in AD and able to resolve the number to username in Lync desktop client.
Sorry, I just verified the normalization rules and dont find any rule that matches the number pattern. Does normalization rule required?
Thanks

Its better to update all the users phone number in AD to e.164 format, alternatively, write simple dial plan & normalization rule to add + to convert to E164 format.Monday, September 15, 2014 12:13 PM
