Is it possible to customize new User screen of FIM2010 RRS feed

Answers

  • Yes. There are two (may be more) ways of doing it:

    1) The supported way: You do it via RCDC definitions. Basically what FIM portal does is to render an XML file (RCDC) to forge a UI for your resource and bind the data to the appropriate web controls. RCDCs are the official/supported way of customizing UIs for FIM resources. RCDSs provide many controls (textboxes, radio buttons, grids etc) but the only drawback in RCDCs is that it also has button control which does not allow you to override the "click" event. Event handling in general is not supported in FIM RCDC (at least it was in FIM 2010 - not sure if it is now supported in R2)

    2) The (not so) supported way: Use the un-supported FIM 2010 resource management client on codeplex and make your own aspx file. This requires lots of development experience though.

    hope this helps
