System Restore not creating restore points RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

despite running Vista for the last few years, I notied that I don't have a single restore point created even though C drive is selected as a drive to automatically create points for.  This is on Vista Home 32 bit SP2.

  • CAN you force it create a point? startmenu<all programs<accessories<system tools<<system restore. Click on create to make a point. If this completes, you have no real problem, just most likely cannot see the restore points as they are hidden, system files by default, and you would have to enable seeing them in the control panel's folder options view tab. If you still have problems with this, try this site: Microsoft's free, automated troubleshooter and support portal, in the tag at the end of my response
