keeping 2 keyboard languages active RRS feed

  • Question

  • WP8.1 , Lumia 822, Denim.

When adding a foreign language keyboard, it becomes the active keyboard even though the English keyboard and the phone is still in USA. The only way to get back the English keyboard is to remove the foreign one.

How can a user make English the default and flip to the foreign when needed? or vica-verca .

and while on keyboards - where are the cursor keys? how does a user go from the second line of a text box back to the first line?

  • There's a button in the bottom left of the keyboard that switches keyboard languages. Tap that to cycle between languages or hold it to bring up a list of keyboards you've turned on.

There are no cursor keys. You simply tap the text entry area to bring up the cursor's handle, then drag the cursor to where you want it.

  • aha, next to the smiley face for emoticons. thanks.

but moving the cursor keys up and down rows - we can't figure it out. when we tap we get guidelines to select for copying etc. , or we can tap in an empty space and move a bit on the row. But moving just the cursor row to row - it keeps dragging text along.
