Force Windows on Top?

    Question

  • We launch many different Citrix apps from a web portal. When you click on any of these Citrix apps you see a icon display on the Taskbar.  If you click this icon on the taskbar it will then pop up the window for the app you started. Is there a way to make it auto popup?

  • Hi,

    >>They actually have to click on the taskbar icon to bring the app into focus.  We wanted to know if there is a GPO that will force any new app to take focus.

As far as I know, there is no group policy which can help us do this. Besides, for this involves third party apps, it's recommended that we contact vendor support to see if they have some suggestions.

Before going further, do you mean that this is UAC prompt? If yes, we can use group policy settings to control UAC behavior.

Regarding group policy settings for UAC, the following article can be referred to for more information.

  • No, it is not a UAC prompt.   When we start a Citrix app the app starts and you see the icon on the taskbar, but the app does not "pop up" so the user can see it.  They actually have to click on the taskbar icon to bring the app into focus.  We wanted to know if there is a GPO that will force any new app to take focus.

  • You could try change this value to 0

    ForegroundLockTimeout

    (HKCU\Control Panel\Desktop)

Changes requires logout/login to be activated IIRC.

  • DWORD = 0 (Default = 200000) The value in my former post is a clickable link to the reference.
