MDT Deployment share unable to connect

    Question

  • Hi All,

We have multiple deployment shares. Due to connectivity issue to MDT machine from target machine, the deployment was interrupted in \\192.168.x.x\1234567$ deployment share.

Next time when we started another deployment with \\192.168.x.x\123455$ deployment share. it was pointing to earlier share \\192.168.x.x\1234567$ and threw the below error message but I checked Bootstrap.ini file and its not pointing to earlier deployment share.

We are not cleaning the OS image before deployment. Any left overs from the interrupted deployment causing this issue on target machine? Do I need to remove any files\folder from target machine before the start of deployment?

We are able to use net use commands to map the shares using credentials which are mentioned in Bootstrap.ini file. So, this is not credentials issue.

    Error message:

A connection to the deployment share (\\192.168.x.x\1234567$) could not be made. Connection OK. Possible cause: invalid credentials.

Retry: Try again to connect to the deployment share.

Cancel: Give up, cancelling any in progress task sequence.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Sourav

  • Yeah, there might be some remnants of the original TS still around causing the symptoms you are describing. Try running diskpart and cleaning the HDD and then restarting the deployment:

    diskpart
    sel dis 0
    clean
    exit
    wpeutil reboot
