Is Web Platform Installer dead? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Have a Windows Server 2016 server running a few websites that desperately need some upgrades, such as to PHP. I ran up web platform installer and first thing I noticed was there was no products listed under "spotlight" . Checking for PHP, the most recent version there is 7.2.7 released in 28 March 2018.

Looking under "All Applications", there have only been 7 product updates in the entire of 2019 and the same number in 2018. Under "products" there's been nothing for more than a year.

Has it been replaced by anything or is IIS heading the way of Windows Phone and encouraging us to all go Linux?

As Dave Patrick said, for web development or IIS questions, the IIS forum should be the most proper place.
