Attribute: adminContextMenu is not showing in ADSI Edit

  • Windows server 2008 R2

    In Active Directory Schema > Attributes these are the settings for the Admin-Context-Menu: 

    Syntax is unicode. Status is Active.

    Index this attribute: is checked

    Ambiguous Name resolution: is unchecked

    Replicate this attribute to the Global Catalog: is checked

    Index this attribute for containerized searches: is unchecked

    I'm trying to Make an edit to the adminContextmenu in ADSI Edit but the attribute is not showing.  I am unable to find anything to tell me where I can enable this attribute so it shows in the Attribute editor.

    any help is appreciated, thanks.

  • Hi,

    The adminContextMenu attribute identifies administrative context menus to display in Active Directory administrative snap-ins. The context menu appears when the user displays the context menu for objects of the appropriate class in one of the Active Directory administrative MMC snap-ins.
