is it possible to go back to an older version of direct x on windows 7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an old video card that does not have drivers for windows 7, I can install the xp drivers with compatibility mode but then whenever I try to play a game I get the blue screen.

    I am running windows 7 enterprise with a Nvidia MX440 8x.

  • It is not related to the version of DirectX. If your video adapter driver does not work with DirectX 10, related programs cannot be launched.

Although you installed the driver in compatible mode, the driver is actually not compatible with Windows 7. You may need to change your video adapter as a final resolution.
