Excel 2007 on Win7 Ultimate 4G Ram 250G HDD RRS feed

  • Question

  • Client called and said he couldn't save an excel 2007 document.  Saving it in .docx format, the file is a large spreadsheet.  It works okay until you try to copy and past items in the DATE formated 03/14/01 field.  Once you do the fast copy the save option isn't saving and the program not responds.  The referenced KB951550 isn't installed on his system.  I've found NO SOLUTION ANYWHERE OTHER THAN REINSTALLING FROM SCRATCH EVERY THING Including the OS.  Programmer is no help.

Looking for Microsoft to help on this.  PC is a new install less than 2 weeks old!

  • Hi,

The Excel 2007 document should be saved in .xlsx instead of .docx format. You may also test the issue in Clean Boot to remove the possible third party software conflicts.

If it does not work, it is recommended to submit this question to in Excel IT Pro Discussions forum. In this forum, your issue should be answered effectively.
