  • Hi All

I have been having some issues with this laptop, and am near on pulling my hair out trying to fix!

Problem is its powering off sporadically, and when I turn back on and go into the event viewer it shows the following 2 warnings just before the power goes -

The speed of processor 1 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 18 seconds since the last report.[ Name] Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Processor-Power

So I checked that the BIOS is up to date and it is. So I decided to give the fan a good clean as it may just be a heat thing but still this still keeps happening.
I then thought that the BIOS could be set to run the fan at a low speed or the power options may be set to battery saving etc... but when I went i to have a look .....
I was really shocked by the lack of options!! Its sooo limited!?

Find it hard to believe that this is the latest version.... really?
Please can someone give me some help and point in the right direction? What am I missing here?

    Thank you loads:)

  • Please provide us with your Event Viewer administrative logs by following these steps:

    Click Start Menu
Type eventvwr into Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
Right click eventvwr.exe and click Run as administrator
    Expand Custom Views
    Click Administrative Events
    Right click Administrative Events
Save all Events in Custom View As...
Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Errors.evtx
Go to where you saved Errors.evtx
Right click Errors.evtx -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder
Upload the .zip file here (if you can) to skydrive or a file sharing service
