  • I was not able to find nothing regarding this. Hyper-V server is free so you don't need to have product key to activate and run it. I am afraid that you will need to reinstall it coz there is no option to upgrade/activate it.

I found this regarding Server 2016

From the "Supported upgrade paths for windows 2016"-document :
Upgrades from pre-release versions (previews) of Windows Server 2016 are not supported. Perform a clean installation to Windows Server 2016.

  • Yes I restart 3 times after this instruction make.

On the Microsoft hotline told me that this is a mistake because it is not a time limit for this version.

Maybe that's why not work to reset the counter.

  • This is the kind of agree, but earlier than talking about these 180 days.
Inquire whether it is the subject do the upgrade to the current version is not technical.
    Do I have to re-install.
This server is now working 15 virtual linux and it was nice to not have to import and export a only update their system.

  • All the output shows that you did not install Hyper-V Server but that you installed a version of Windows Server and enabled the Hyper-V option.  Ensure that you download the Microsoft Hyper-V Server - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-hyper-v-server-2016

Remember, too, that Hyper-V Server is designed to be managed remotely.  It does not provide a GUI interface.  So you must be able to manager via command line tools or manage it remotely.

  • It turns out that TP5 is only until 1 March 2017, even reinstall from scratch does not solve the problem.

  • I tried to install a version of "hyper-v 2016" but I have a problem.

Version TP5 was in itself drivers for network cards HP DL580 G7, but the final version does not support these cards.

How can you move drivers from TP5 to the final version?

The driver of the HP Windows 2012 R2 do not install themselves.

I have a note about supported operating system.

Is it possible to do something in compatibility mode with previous versions?

  • Contact the vendor of the device for which you need the driver.  It is the vendor's responsibility to provide the device drivers.
