.wtv Format will NOT burn RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been trying all night with fresh DVD+R discs to burn my Recorded TV files within Windows Media Center to DVD.  Not one DVD burning program I have knows what this .wtv format is!  And I tried to burn just a 1/2 hour movie thinking maybe 1.5 hrs of  a movie was too much. Even a half hour show would not burn.  I'm totally stumped and can't find an answer anywhere.

I have been reading forums for the past 2 hours and could not find even one thread relating to this problem.  I downloaded VideoReDo Plus and THAT program doesn't recognize the format either, even after listing it as a new extension.

If anyone knows the answer to this, by all means please email me.  My email address is figgeritout@gmail.com.

Take a look at the following thread.

The GB forums are completely focused on all facets of Vista / Media Center. They are a great resource and you will even find some of the Microsoft Media Center team posting there.

    Thanks for understanding.

  • I read all the posts from the links you supplied but I dont' understand any of it.  It's a bit beyond my comprehension.

Not only can I not burn the .wtv files outside of Windows Media Center by manually putting them in the blank DVD, but you would think that Windows Media Center would fix this since they have the burn option in their software.  I've sent them an email asking why the software won't burn it, but it's like creating a new world in the universe trying to get an answer from any software distributor.

What you need to do is join the Green Button forums and post a message there describing the problem, just like you did here.

One of the media center experts there can walk you through the step-by-step procedure for getting these files burned to a DVD.

    Hope this helps.
