SD card removed before upgrade to Windows Phone 10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • My Lumia is going to be updated to Windows Phone 10, from currently Phone 8.something. As for 8 this Lumia got once or twice Windows updates. But it is still 8.something. Windows Phone 10 is available for this model.

Several user data and apps were moved to SD card - all data is critical for daily work - which is going to be removed for duration of update process, just to prevent update procedure from eventual breaking data on sd card. But how to proceed with removed card after update to W P 10 is completed?  One can imaging updater will install own app versions, there will be some overlapping with apps stored on card. How to proceed in order Windows 10 does not destroy data on card on reinsertion, takes over all data on card, updates apps if needed and makes further usage possible?

  • Well, in the meantime several Microsoft/Nokia stock apps were moved to SD card. Also those coming from 3rd-party vendors (but this is not the focus here). All this was made while Lumia yet under Windows 8.1 Mobile control.

In next step SD card was removed from Lumia.

Then Upgrade to Win Phone 10  14393.1770 was completed.

Update, clean-up session was completed following upgrade to Win Ph. 10.

In next step the SD card was inserted back to Lumia.

How to import now contacts from SD card (contacts app along with its data exported to SD from Lumia memory under Win Mobile 8.1) to Win 10 Microsoft contacts app in Lumia internal memory?

Same question regarding private calendars - calendar app under Win Mob 8.1 was moved along with its data to SD card. Now this SD card is populated to same Lumia while latter one operates under Win Phone 10 (as of now latest release for Lumia 730).
