  • You can't delete those messages. They might age out and deleted by a maintenance task though.

  • delete from dbo.DistributionStatus where ID = <DPID of affected DP identified by above command>

Just an additional information: editing the database manually is unsupported.

  • When will this message age out and deleted if I can see other messages created in august 2013 in SCCM console? I want to delete old messages manually.

  • Same behaviour here.  Could you find a solution for this issue meanwhile?

  • Check the database to find any DP with the InsStr2 value is 3010. Here are the steps for your reference.

    > Make sure you have good backup of the site DB

    > Run the following select statement to find the Distribution Points in this state: select * from dbo.DistributionStatus where InsStr2 = '3010'

    > Once identified then Delete a record an affected DP with: delete from dbo.DistributionStatus where ID = <DPID of affected DP identified by above command>

  • Thank you very very much, your solution works like a charm for me.

The only way i find to get rid of the message was reinstalling the DP. But that's no feasible way because deleting the DP i've to redistribute all the packages.

    Hi Torsten

Sorry to hijack this post which is old, i too have the same issue

I have looked under Administration > Sites > SITE > Status Filter Rules but cannot find a Maintenance Plan that would simply clear this in progress message of Restart Might be required.

If i choose create there is no obvious criteria to use / choose, i was hoping to be able to use a value to clear message containing restart might be required

It would be good if there was some for of alert acknowledgement somewhere

I am referring to the Monitoring > Distribution Point Configuration Status where the In progress status remains even after the DP being rebooted serveral times and the Packages all match those that have a status of good

  • Hi

Getting the same issue removed the DP and reinstalled same issue waiting for maintenance tasks to run to see if this clears.  Any more information on this would be greatly appreciated.

  • Those messages can be deleted from the database, but that's not supported.

  • I wouldn't do that John, unless you want to wait for your DP to rebuild and redistribute all the content.

It's not worth it for a simple status message.

  • Since this is the top Google result I figured I'd add that Premier Support provided the exactly SQL queries in this thread to resolve the issue described.  We have a lot of DPs and it's quite a job to keep them all working.  So it's important to us that we can look at the Distribution Point Configuration Status node will know which DPs need attention.
