Tasks - list assign to RRS feed

  • Question

  • I create task in sharepoint and fill the assign to property to specific user. Is that possible to configure when a user access sharepoint portal with specific user credential, only task items that assign to him will be shown and other task items is hidden.

  • yes, that can be done by creating a custom view where you can use the filter on assign to property with [Me] word.

  • Ok yeah by creating custom view, but what I want is the current user only see his task.

So I can delete all view and provide 1 default view My Tasks, but how to hide command for modify this view or crate view ?

Can I setting permission on those command so some users can not access those command ?

  • Hi,

ootb you cannot set permission on a view. There are some products  that you can buy (for example I tried this http://www.sharepointboost.com/columnpermission.html and it worked fine) or here is a link to a solution that could solve your need

  • oh yeah sharepointboost need to buy, but the bottom is good tricky solution. but still user can view other task by accessing the url http://irwan-pc/Lists/Tasks/ and that will show the default view for the list.

    It is still view able.
