Graphics Q. Novice user-HELP?!?! RRS feed

  • Question

  • This is a HP Pavilion dv6605us Entertainment Notebook PC. Using Windows Vista.  The graphics problem shutsdown the computer after a period of time-do not understand why the time period varies.  The recomended updates provided by Microsoft do help.  But when the problem occurs the response is "Can't find a solution with Microsoft." NVIDIA's updates are not compatible. Graphics labeled as NVIDIA GeForce Go 7150M. Thanks

Hi Viernes, did you receive any error regarding the graphics problem? What error made you think that graphics issue caused the computer shutdown? For the issue, we can first install the latest driver from Nvidia and check the result:

This seems like a strange problem. There should be no reason when the graphics card shuts down a computer. Is there a dialouge box or anything? what r the symptoms? U gave too brief a description
