MIM 2016 Workflow function - problems with dateTime value RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm attempting to pass a user attribute that's stored as a dateTime as part of workflow data, but MIM keeps trying to interpret it as a GUID (error in FIM app event log that Guid should contain 32 digits).  When I try to format it as a string, the DateTimeFormat function won't take the field value as an argument because contrary to what the documentation I've found says, it wants a string value for both function arguments. Any thoughts on how to deal with this short of setting up a new user attribute for storing this date as a string?

  • Hi Robert,

I have run into this aswell. I guess you're using the built-in Function Evaluator?

Unfortunately, the built-in Function Evaluator Activity is bit quirky (you can use the word buggy if you like). It won't handle Date values gracefully.

We ended up using MIMWAL (UpdateResource) instead, which also gives much better flexibility.
