Pause Alerts for specific duration RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Is it possible to disable the alerts for a specific duration of time in a day. For Eg; we had port monitoring configured and doesn't want to alerted for a specific time in day. We don't want to put the server in maintenance mode because this will disable the other alerts for the server. Is it possible to put the port monitor only to put in maintenance mode and that too for specific time everyday.

    Regards,

    Daya

  • Hi D. R.

Tim's Maintenance schedule looks like awesome tool. Every SCOM Admin will be lucky to have it. But if you are not allowed to install or use this tool becuase of security reasons, you may use following commands to put specific class objects in maintenance mode.

$Class = Get-SCOMClass -Name 'Demo.class' #Name of class for which you dont want alerts
    $Instance = Get-SCOMClassInstance -Class $Class
    $Time = ((Get-Date).AddMinutes(10))
Start-SCOMMaintenanceMode -Instance $Instance -EndTime $Time -Comment "Do not Generate Alert" -Reason "TimeOff"
