Windows updates are getting failed while installation, RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We have one server in our infrastructure which is showing errors while installing windows update. Its able to download the updates from WSUS server but when we try to install them, it shows error code 8000FFFF. I tried to reset the authorization and resetting and re-registering WSUS components but all went in vain. Please help me in fixing the issue.

  • Hi,

If a client is able to download update from WSUS server, the WSUS should be fine. It may be an update specific issue. Please try to download the update manually from the website below:

     http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Home.aspx

If the manual installation is still failed, please try to use DISM or System Update Readiness tool to check if there is any system file corruption.

    Best Regards.

  • Dear Steven,

Thanks. I tried to download the update manually and perform the installation but it failed.

I am now trying to download the windows system update readiness tool as suggested and check whether it helps or not. If it helps I will update here. But I have previously tried to check all the things that this tool checks using manual method but failed. Lets see how tools work.
