Sharepoint Foundation 2010 - problem in creating additional web application RRS feed

  • Question

  • hello,

i ve got a strange problem regarding SharePoint 2010 foundation...

i created from the beginning web application and it creates successfully.

after that, i wanted to create another web application with the following parameters:

    New IIS website name: Sharepoint-Col

    Port: 80

    Host Header:  col.contoso.com

    path: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\col.contoso.com

    Authentication Provider: NTLM

    Allow Anonymous: NO

    SSL: NO

    URL: http://col.contoso.com

    Application Pool Name: Sharepoint-Col

    Database Name: WSS_Content_col

then i created a site collection and gave Title (Col). URL as well (http://col.contoso.com)

    specified  primary site collection administrator.

after that when i m trying to log in the created web application site:

popup windows is appearing and asking to enter credentials (see the attachment):

when i m entering it is not granting access with this credentials

in the System logs i found:

    -------------------------------------------------------------

The program w3wp.exe, with the assigned process ID 4932, could not authenticate locally by using the target name HTTP/col.contoso.com. The target name used is not valid. A target name should refer to one of the local computer names, for example, the DNS host name.

     Try a different target name.

    -------------------------------------------------------------

in application log i got next error:

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you on with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off.

    user: contoso\sps-admin

    computer: sps02.contoso.com

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    any ideas?
