We checked the search service, it is running. we have run console repair three times with reboot after each repair.

The server install a nine months ago was a clean install with no issues.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

  • Hello,

I see a similar error detailed for the Users role tab.

The more I look into this (There are many other similar crashes documented on the internet), the more it indicates that the major cause of this issue is something missing or miss configured (With direct relation to the crashing tab).

Is there something odd about your network cards ? Have you made any changes recently to networking ?

I assume you only have one enabled network card, DNS etc was all set via the wizards when you first setup the server and you are not multihoming IP's? Any changes to DNS ?

  • Can you upload Console.log file that is located at c:\program files\windows small business server\logs for further research?

Also, check the following KB article and see if that helps:

  • I had same problem and was easily fixed by giving "network services" full control to c:\temp .

right click c:\temp file & click on properties

click security tab and add "network services"

    give full control

work like a champ for me
