Not saving chat history in outllok lync 2013 RRS feed

  • Hello,

    Lync 2013 chat history not saving automatically in outlook conversation folder, when I checked at registry level and found that Autodiscovery registry is missing at which require to save chat history "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\lync\myname@xyz.com\Autodiscovery"

    Created that registry key copied and merge from other system where lync working but after restart key getting removed.

    So my question is,

    1. Why registey settings removeing after system restart.

    2.How to apply these setting on all client system in domain.

  • You can enable auto saved chat history on lync. some time when we need URL or previous chat but find that chat is no longer more saved so avoid this problem you can enable auto saved history. If you are using outlook mail service then follow these steps to active auto save functionality 

    • On the Skype for Business (Lync) main window, click the Options  arrow button, and then click Personal.
    • In the Personal information manager section, look for a check box labeled Save IM conversations in my email Conversation History folder.
    • If you don’t see this check box, or if it’s in the window but dimmed (not operable), this means either you’re not using Outlook for email, or you are using Outlook but your organization has set up your Skype for Business (Lync) account such that IM conversations are not being saved in Outlook.
    • If the check box is there and operable but it’s clear, select it if you want your conversation history saved, and then click OK.
    • If the check box is there and selected, your conversation history is already being saved
