Calendar Appointments 'Missing' in Outlook 2010 SP2 (14.0.7208.5000) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

We have come across an issue in Outlook whereby users are creating calendar appointments using the 'Reply with Meeting' option and although the recipients (external and internal) receive the appointment it doesn't appear in the sender's calendar in 'Calendar' view. If you change the view to 'List' view the appointment is visible but has no start or end time.

Our users are missing appointments as they don't appear in the calendar for them. Has anyone come across this before?

    Outlook 2010 SP2 (14.0.7208.5000)

    Exchange 2016 CU 6 (15.1.1034.26)

    Many thanks,

    Alex

  • Hi Alex,

When did you notice this issue? After a recent update?

Did the recipients accept the meeting after receiving? Can you see the appointments in the Calendar from OWA?

Besides, we released new updates on June 12, 2018, you may try installing it and then see whether this issue still continues.

    Please keep us posted.

    Regards,
    Steve Fan

  • Hi Steve,

One of the users says it has been happening for over a month (only just reported to us though).

We can't see the appointments in OWA either.

The recipients did accept the meeting, the issue happens as soon as the request is sent via the Reply with Meeting option so I wonder if am update has introduced a bug.

    Thanks

    Alex

  • Thank you Alex for the update. We haven't received any report on a similar situation. Have you got an opportunity to try the latest update? Any progress?

Besides, do the users click "Reply with Meeting" button in users' own mailbox or in a shared mailbox?

Can you see the meeting invitation in the Sent Items folder of the sender's mailbox? Does it display as meeting invitation correctly?

    Regards,
    Steve Fan

  • Hi Steve,

Sorry for the late reply! Still happening I'm afraid and we have tested on Outlook 2010 with no add-ins enabled.

They click the 'Reply to Meeting' button in their own mailbox, copying and pasting the content into a new meeting request does not cause the problem to occur. When it happens they do appear in Sent Items - the reason he first noticed was because a recipient replied asking the meeting to be changed to a different time.

The meeting displays correctly in the Sent Items folder also (with the correct time).

It sounds a lot like this issue:

    Thanks

    Alex
