DebugView's Taskbar Notification Icon Gets Lost When Explorer Dies RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've been using DebugView for many years. It's a great tool. It only has one minor bug: when using the Hide When Minimized option, whenever explorer dies and restarts, DebugView's taskbar notification icon gets lost, and there's no way to get at it anymore. The only recourse is killing it and starting a new instance, losing the accumulated debug info.

This minor bug has bothered me all these years, but recently I've had to kill explorer several times a day, due to this explorer bug (https://www.sevenforums.com/customization/48384-unwanted-resizing-taskbar.html), so it's become impossible for me to use the Hide When Minimized option, which is too bad.

There's also a related minor issue: when using Win-Down to minimize DebugView, the Hide When Minimized option is ignored, minimizing to the TaskBar normally instead.
