Windows 7 multiple display issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • If a Windows 7 forum exists yet, I can't find it.

I'm running 7 Enterprise x64, with an Nvidia Quadro NVS 420 card.  The card supports 4 displays.  I have 4 displays, all 1280x1024 native.  Drivers for the card are current as of today.  Here's the problem:  Only three of them can be used when spanning the desktop across all displays.  The 4th display defaults to "disconnect this display".  When changing the 4th to "extend desktop to this display", is disables the 3rd display.  But, I can "duplicate desktop on display 3 & 4" with no problems.

Another oddity:  in the Nvidia control panel, when I attempt to enable the 4th display, it also duplicates desktop 3 to desktop 4.

Has anyone seen this behavior?  Is this an adapter issue, or a Windows 7 issue?

  • Same deal, but with NVIDA Quatro 290.  3 displays, no 4th.  What is vista?
