Imap sync issue with outlook 2013 and foldernames that are sligtly different RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We have a strange problem in regards to IMAP Mailboxes.

We updated our mail server (Axigen) and all mailboxes that are connected with imap show the following problem.

When outlook 2013 creates the box it make a folder "Postvak IN" in the server this folder is called "Postvak In".

When outlook synchronizes it adds the extra "Postvak In" folder and the sub directories but none of the mails are downloaded to the client.

New mails appear in "Postvak IN" in outlook and als appear in the webmail client in "Postvak In".

When looking at synchronization problems outlook gives a " [8004DF03-0-0-560]" fault.

Anybody have an idea on how to make outlook see the "Postvak In" as the real entry point  so we can delete the faulted directories.

Same issue is in  for send items and  deleted items. the junk folder seems unaffected by this.

    Thanks in advance

    Stijn Dhondt

Does the issue happen to all your IMAP mailboxes in Outlook? Please confirm if you are also configure this account on any Mobile phones. Additionally, please press Win + R, type the following switches to start Outlook:
    Outlook /resetfolders
    Outlook /resetfoldernames
    Outlook /resetnavpane
    Outlook /Safe

Please right-click the Inbox folder, click IMAP folders, click Query to Subscribe or Unsubscribe any folders to have a try.
