MDT 2013 Update 1 - domainoulist.xml not working RRS feed

  • Question

  • Updated our MDT to 2013 update 1 and our domainoulist.xml stopped working.  Error indicates: "Invalid OU format (must start with OU=)".  We have the xml as: <DomainOU value="OU=Computers,OU=Site,DC=domain01">Site</DomainOU>  This does not seem to be working with MDT 2013 update 1.  I can however use <DomainOU>OU=Computers,OU=Site,DC=domain01</DomainOU>.  But we have a long list of OU and names so we cannot use it this way.

Is there a fix for this?

  • Got it.  Looks like the update also put in the default DeployWiz_ComputerName.vbs.  Put in the modified version we had before and all is back to normal.

  • You haven't been able to use friendly names in DomainOUList.xml for quite a while.  There is no work around at this time.

  • You can use your customsettings.ini file and place the OUs there

    DomainOUs1=
    DomainOUs2=
    DomainOUs3=

    I hope this helps.

  • If there is a custom script that shares its name with an included script the custom script will be overwritten during upgrade.
