Deployment of MIM 2016 on Server 2016 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

I am trying to setup and deploy MIM 2016 on Server 2016. There are certain Prerequisites you need to install and when I come to the section where you have to add the roles and features in the wizard section, the Server Application is missing as they were removed in Server 2016.

My question... What roles do you need to install in place of the Server Application in Server 2016?

    Kind regards,

    John B.

  • The install is no different from other versions.

    you need

    -IIS

    -Windows Identity Foundation

    -.NET

Run the SharePoint Foundation Pre-Reqs and it will tell you what is needed.

You can run this PowerShell, provided here by Craig Lussier (without any warranty) to download the required pre-requisites. https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/office/DownloadInstall-SharePoint-e6df9eb8

  • Here is a link for installation of SharePoint Foundation on Windows Server 2016

Keep in mind, SharePoint Foundation 2013 doesn't support SQL Server 2016. You need to use SQL Server 2012 or 2014
