  • I am also having the same issue. We have a KMS server on our Win2008 r2 server. We just purchased Lic for Windows 2012 R2 Datacenter and Windows 8.1 computers and the KMS key for our Windows 2012 r2 server will not install on the current KMS server we have. How do I activate my 2012 R2 Datacenter and Windows 8.1 computers?

  • @Drshutt, you need to install the relevant update package for WS2008R2, you can then install the WS2012R2 KMS product key on your WS2008R2 KMShost, which can then issue activations to your WS2012R2/Win8.1 KMSclients.
